We built HR Audit Co. because most small businesses are stuck between two bad options: pay a traditional consulting firm $5,000 to $15,000 for an onsite audit they can't afford, or keep operating without knowing what they don't know.

HR Audit Co. delivers flat-fee HR compliance audits for businesses that don't have — and don't need — a full HR team. Our audits are conducted remotely by SHRM-certified HR professionals. The methodology behind our audit has been refined across more than 400 organizations, 80 industries, and all 50 states.

The companies we work with tend to be growing, profitable, and run by owners who care deeply about their people. They've built something worth protecting. What they don't have is an in-house HR team keeping current on the thousand small ways federal and state employment law shifts every year. That's the gap we close.

Compliance should be accessible. A 30-employee business shouldn't need a six-figure HR budget or a $10,000 engagement to know whether it's operating legally. We built the product around that premise.

Transparency beats complexity. We publish our prices. We don't do discovery calls. We don't scope custom engagements for standard audits. The cost is the cost, and the scope is the scope, and you know both before you buy.

Tools beat findings alone. A report that sits on a shelf isn't an audit. It's a paperweight. Every audit includes custom implementation documents so you can actually fix what we find, plus 30 days of support to make sure changes happen.

Experts, not templates. Every audit is conducted by a SHRM-certified HR professional with real experience across industries and states. We use AI to accelerate the first-pass review, but every finding and every recommendation is the product of an expert review layer. No generic checklists, no mass-produced reports.

The honest part

We're not a law firm. We're HR consultants. We'll identify compliance risks and flag any issues that require legal counsel, and we'll tell you honestly when you need an attorney rather than another consultant. Many of our clients use our audit findings to have more focused (and less expensive) conversations with their employment attorney.
