How it works
We start with a 60-minute kickoff call to understand your business, current state, and what’s on your plate. If you’re a recent audit client, we already have the context — we just align on priorities.
Reach out via text, email, or scheduled call. Quick questions get quick answers. Bigger situations get the time they need. Urgent issues get same-business-day attention.
An optional 30-minute monthly check-in to surface what’s coming up and flag emerging issues before they grow. Some clients use this religiously, some don’t need it — your call.
Month-to-month, no long-term contracts. Pause for a season, scale up or down with your team, or end the subscription with 15 days’ notice. No exit fees, no friction.
FAQ
Already in good shape — do I need the audit?
Nope. HR Consulting Support works as a fully standalone subscription. Some clients come in through the audit so we have a deep map of their HR landscape, but many don’t — their operations are already solid and they just want a senior HR consultant on call. If that’s you, your kickoff call covers more ground so I have context, and we hit the ground running from there.
What counts toward my call hours?
Scheduled calls, video sessions, document or policy reviews, and any substantive written response that takes more than a few minutes. What doesn’t count: quick texts, short email replies, and async questions. The everyday back-and-forth is part of the subscription — that’s what makes this an actual partnership.
What happens if I go over my hours?
Additional hours are billed at $250/hour. If you’re consistently using more than your tier allows, that’s usually a signal it’s time to move up to the next tier — we’ll talk about it before any surprise bills.
How fast do you respond?
Routine questions: same business day. Urgent matters (terminations, harassment complaints, accommodation requests, regulatory inquiries): same business day, prioritized. After-hours and weekends: I’ll respond if it’s a true emergency, but most issues can hold until business hours start.
What if my team size changes?
If you grow into the next tier, we’ll move you up at the start of the following billing cycle. If your team shrinks, the same applies in reverse. No retroactive billing, no penalties.
What’s not included?
Three things specifically: legal advice (I’m an HR consultant, not an attorney — I’ll tell you when to call one), full handbook rewrites or extensive policy drafting beyond review (quoted separately at subscriber rates), and on-site visits (HR Consulting Support is remote-first, like everything else we do).
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Month-to-month, no contracts. Give 15 days’ notice and we’ll wrap up at the end of your current billing cycle. No exit fees. If you ever need to come back, your door is open.
Is this the same as fractional HR?
It’s adjacent, but lighter. Fractional HR usually means someone embedded in your team, sitting in on meetings, attending strategic planning. HR Consulting Support is more on-demand — expert access when you need it, without the embedded role. If you outgrow this subscription and need fractional-level involvement, we can talk about that engagement separately.
